"American Bully" - Elmo
How we discovered the Dogo Argentino
Our journey toward the Dogo Argentino began with our first dog, Elmo, an American Bully, whom we adopted from our local animal shelter in 2016.
As first-time dog owners and naturally curious people, we immersed ourselves deeply in canine literature and education. We spent countless hours studying dog behavior, breed development, and the historical background of various Bull, Terrier, and Molosser breeds.
We were particularly fascinated by books focusing on canine behavior and the origin and purpose of working dog breeds.
The book that ultimately changed everything for us was “Kampfhunde – wie sie wirklich sind” by Dr. Dieter Fleig.
While reading this book, we discovered the Dogo Argentino for the first time — and were immediately captivated by its unique history, exceptional character, and unmistakable elegance.
From that moment on, our enthusiasm for this remarkable breed continued to grow and eventually led us to dedicate ourselves to responsible Dogo Argentino breeding.
Our Journey with the Dogo Argentino
As we continued to grow in experience, expand our knowledge, and get to know many different dog breeds, we eventually began searching for our own Dogo Argentino female.
In December 2019, our foundation female Fe Micantes Dei joined our family from the renowned Micantes Dei Kennel. From the very beginning, we felt extremely welcome with Siniša Adžić, whose immense knowledge, experience, and deep passion for the Dogo Argentino allowed us to learn a lot about the breed.
Our female developed exceptionally well, achieving outstanding results at dog shows. Over time, and driven by our growing fascination with the Dogo Argentino, the desire arose to actively contribute to the preservation and ethical breeding of this remarkable breed.
Responsibility in Modern Dogo Argentino Breeding
Like many breeds that are subject to breed-specific legislation in parts of Germany, responsible breeding of the Dogo Argentino can be challenging. As a result, there are only a limited number of officially recognized VDH / FCI breeders in Germany. While unfortunately many unregulated breeders produce puppies purely for profit — often without sufficient expertise or consideration for health, temperament, or breed integrity.
For this reason, it is especially important to us to preserve this unique breed with responsibility, expertise, and long-term vision.
In our breeding program, we place particular emphasis on, excellent health and genetic stability. Achieved by careful selection of suitable bloodlines. Thoughtful and well-planned combinations for each litter as well as preservation of correct temperament and functionality.
As an officially recognized FCI / VDH registered kennel, our breeding activities are conducted under independent supervision and strict regulations — always prioritizing the welfare and long-term health of our dogs.
A Breed That Fits Our Lifestyle
The versatility of the Dogo Argentino perfectly matches our lifestyle. As active people who enjoy sports and spending extensive time outdoors, we value a dog that combines athletic ability, endurance, loyalty, and close companionship within its family.
